Valerie Anne Bertinelli (born April 14th in 1970) is an American writer and actor. Her two Golden Globe Awards, the star has become a household word in roles such as Barbara in CBS One Day at a Time as well as Melanie Moretti in Hot in Cleveland. As a teenager she started acting, and has grown into an experienced character actress. The friendship she shared with the daughter of a TV producer as a little girl imbibed in her a passion for show business and she decided to go into professional acting. Bertinelli made her debut in television after studying at Tami Lynn School of Artists. As a result of her impressive acting skills and self-confidence, she quickly became a household name in the business. In addition to her complicated personal history and struggle with alcohol and drugs, she also worked to get her life back. Her New York Times bestsellers, where she narrates her tough life experiences and struggles are well known to all who read them.
